11/7/2023 0 Comments Life is strange 2 endings![]() It takes a long time, for sure, but in the grand scheme of things, 32 is still relatively young. Sean ultimately and eventually ends up with a support system that he doesn't have in the other endings, has a career as a comics artist/creator, and at the end of the day, he has Lyla too. Daniel is able to grow up an even more normal life than in Parting Ways, and while limited in capacity for a while, he still has Sean. In Redemption, yes Sean is in jail until he's 32, and he misses a lot of key moments involving Daniel growing up, but there's still the possibility that Daniel, Karen, Lyla, Claire, and Stephen are allowed supervised visitation if nothing else. As well, in all 3 of those endings a lot of people get hurt or killed in the process. In Lone Wolf, Sean is dead and Daniel has literally nobody, and while Parting Ways might turn out relatively alright for Daniel, Sean still is left with ultimately nobody other than possibly Cassidy or Finn. With Blood Brothers, Sean permanently loses the ability to contact everybody else he's ever known for the rest of his life other than Daniel. It's the only ending other than Blood Brothers where Sean ultimately still has Daniel around, and in that ending Sean ONLY has Daniel. I've always felt that Redemption with Lyla is the best overall ending. In the Redemption ending, I imagined Sean stuck in the reception, seeing how happy Daniel was and just being miserable at how his own life turned out. In the Parting Ways ending, I imagined Sean writing a heartfelt note and wishing he could be there. One thing that helped me process the endings was imagining Daniel getting married. I just saw Sean as a husk of a person in Redemption. Sean is asked to sacrifice the part of him that can love, that can be emotional, and that forms connections to others, for Daniel. But in Redemption, I think there is something deeper. In Episode 4, Sean is willing to die to save Daniel. ![]() The game asks Sean if he will sacrifice everything for Daniel. ![]() In the Redemption ending I saw Sean as fundamentally broken by his experience in prison. Sean instilled a good bit of morality in Daniel but he didn't sacrifice his freedom. Sean seems happy in Mexico and Daniel has something close to a normal life. In Blood Brothers they are criminals in Mexico and Daniel gives Sean a look before staring out at the ocean. In Parting Ways you have to wonder if Daniel is doing well with an ankle monitor. In Redemption, you have to wonder if Sean is OK after 15 years in prison when he starts crying during the brother's camping trip. ![]() What did y'all choose?ĭontnod gives you a reason to doubt you made the right choice in all the endings. Biggest problem is the brothers never see each other again. And Sean lives his happy life with Cassidy. But is he truly unhappy? He's under house arrest but he still has all his family and friends to visit him. Both options Daniel is at grandparents house but if Sean decides to go to Mexico then Daniel is just under house arrest. Sean going to prison for stuff not even his fault then having him broken after 15 years just sucks. The whole point of the game is the two wolf brothers always together and happy. ![]() Sean going to jail for 15 years and missing Daniel growing up to me is not a good ending. I know it's just a game with characters but this is tough lol. I know for sure Sean and Daniel are getting the high morality option but I don't know what's best. I spoiled myself a little and read all the possible endings. So I've been staring at the screen on pause for the past 30 min trying to think of what I want lol. ![]()
